Half Logistic Inverted Nadarajah–Haghighi Distribution under Ranked Set Sampling with Applications

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this paper, we present the half logistic inverted Nadarajah–Haghigh (HL-INH) distribution, a novel extension of (INH) distribution. The probability density function (PDF) for HL-INH distribution might have unimodal, right skewness, or heavy-tailed shape numerous parameter values; however, forms hazard rate (HRF) may be decreasing. Four specific entropy measurements were investigated. Some useful expansions Several statistical and computational features calculated. Using simple (SRS) ranked set sampling (RSS), parameters estimated using maximum likelihood (ML) technique. A simulation analysis was executed in order to determine model SRS RSS methods, shown more efficient than SRS. We demonstrate that is adaptable INH other distributions when utilizing three real-world datasets.

Estimation of Variance of Normal Distribution using Ranked Set Sampling

Introduction     In some biological, environmental or ecological studies, there are situations in which obtaining exact measurements of sample units are much harder than ranking them in a set of small size without referring to their precise values. In these situations, ranked set sampling (RSS), proposed by McIntyre (1952), can be regarded as an alternative to the usual simple random sampling ...

Stress-strength Model for Generalized Inverted Exponential Distribution Using Ranked Set Sampling

In this paper, the estimation of R=P(Y < X), when X and Y are two generalized inverted exponential random variables with different parameters is considered. This problem arises naturally in the area of reliability for a system with strength X and stress Y. The estimation is made using simple random sampling (SRS) and ranked set sampling (RSS) approaches. The maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) o...

Estimation of Parameters of Morgenstern Type Bivariate Logistic Distribution by Ranked Set Sampling

The concept of ranked set sampling was first introduced by McIntyre (1952) as a process of improving the precision of the sample mean as an estimator of the population mean. This is applicable whenever ranking of a set of sampling units can be done easily by a judgement method see, Chen et al. (2004). Ranking by judgement method is not recommendable if the judgement method is not mathematically...

Parametric Ranked Set Sampling*

Ranked set sampling was introduced by McIntyre (1952, Australian Journal of Agricultural Research, 3, 385-390) as a cost-effective method of selecting data if observations are much more cheaply ranked than measured. He proposed its use for estimating the population mean when the distribution of the data was unknown. In this paper, we examine the advantage, if any, that this method of sampling h...
